Mrs. Palomino believes that physical education challenges the mind and body in a variety of ways. It is her belief that physical education provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the overall development and well-being of students. She goes on to think that, as a teacher, her job is to keep students active and interested in physical activity. Every student has different interests and she wants to be sure to find out what her students enjoy doing and relate activities to those interests.
Physical Education class is a place where students build character, they learn how to: defeat new challenges, become leaders, respect others, while working independently or together as a group. She feels teaching is a vehicle to help students develop lifelong skills. As an educator she will provide students with a multitude of developmentally appropriate activities which include movement and fitness concepts as well as dance, sports, and recreation/leisure activities. By incorporating a variety of activities and including opportunities for students to have some freedom in choosing activities, she will broaden their exposure and encourage them to develop a lifelong love of being physically active.
In order for students to stay interested in physical activity and to boost their self-confidence students must succeed. She will do her best to ensure that all her students succeed in some way, shape or form. She believes that in order for students to succeed they need to participate to the best of their ability in a safe environment. When students give it their all they get the most out of the class while having fun. She feels that students should always be given the opportunity to be successful. She mentions that in her classroom she likes to make learning fun and interesting. This involves using a variety of teaching methods and activities that allow different types of learners to excel. She values physical activity, good health, and the well-being for herself and her students, she believes her students can participate, succeed, and stay interested in physical activity and good health for a lifetime!
